Can you help me find a corseted ballgown wedding dress? AND how do you find gowns from previous seasons???
Hi, I'm recently engaged and my Fiance and I just made the decision to marry this Fall. hooray! But I'm having trouble finding my perfect dress.
I'd like it to be a satin ballgown with very few embellishments as I want the fabric to be sumptuous.
and I'd like the back to be a corset, preferably.
I feel like I've looked everywhere. But if you can suggest some boutiques, websites, gowns, that would be wonderful.
I like some of the gowns on Aetelier Aimee, Anne Barge, and I like the satin in the Melissa Sweet dresses.
Right now I'm just trying to find the dress. I'll worry about the price later, just because I'm sure I'd be able to find it online or at a discount bridal store for less.
Also, how do you find gowns from previous seasons????

I included a link that you may or may not have peeked a look at. I have to say that there may be some improv with the dress. When I read your ideas what came to mind is an original two piece. The 'first' piece is the corset, brought together with a beautiful thick white ribbon that flows to the bottom of the dress. I sent along a link from 'darkgarden.com' as they do that professionally. I'm sure there are others. The search word I used was "bridal corsets". The link didn't have anything I had in mind but perhaps its what your looking for?
The first piece would be together with the train, skirt, 'second' piece.
You could do this indeed as previous poster suggested with a dressmaker. Or, you could look at the design schools throughout the US, they're starving students who's ideas are just hoppin' and 'with it' and just glam.If you chose this route, make sure that your request 'couture' that will help the designer understand that you want. Letting the fabric to speak for itself and not have bumblebees, etc on your dress.
If you chose to use a dressmaker, make sure you give her/him enough time, and find one that makes prom dresses, etc so you have an idea of what her work is, and have representative photo profolio.
If your looking for ready to wear, my suggestion is do the two piece. The first piece a bit longer than usual to incorporate it easier into the second part of the dress. But this is all my thought process is and I don't wish to detract from your lovely idea. Just suggestions
