How much is an average wedding bouquet of roses cost?
Im thinking about doing my flowers all silk since I heard its cheaper, but is it really that much less. Im only having two bridesmaids and as little flower decor as possible. My main question though really is, whats the ball park amount for the average bouquet?
It truly depends on the florist, the area you are in and the time of year. For instance, I got married on February 16th, which is two days after Valentine's Day. Since it was so close to Valentine's Day I paid a lot more for my bouquet of roses since the price of roses nearly triple around that time of year. I believe that I paid around $125.00 for my bouquet...
I think that average price is about $100.00 for the bridal bouquet...at least the area that I'm in (SF Bay Area). You could call around to your local grocery stores like Safeway. My friend got her bouquets done at Safeway - they did a wonderful job and it was fairly cheap.
I personally like the look of the real flowers - but I've been in a wedding where they used silk flowers and it looked really nice...and we got to keep the bouquets as a keepsake.
Honestly, the best thing to do is make calls to your local florists (look for wholesale florists in your area) and grocery stores. You never know - you may find that it around the same price to do fresh flowers.
If you are trying to watch your cost you can do what I did for my wedding - I wanted roses for my bouquet, so I spent the extra money; but for my bridesmaids I tried to keep it affordable, so we used gerbera daisies. The bouquets turned out really beautiful and much more affordable then doing roses for everyone.
