Is there a wax I can put on beading on wedding gown?
Here's the problem. I bought my wedding gown in a different town then where I live/am getting married. I will bring it home the week before the wedding and take it to a store here that will press/steam it for me. I called them about the wax and the gal said she'd heard of it but they didnt have anything they use. My question is, since my dress has beading around the top (its strapless) and it will rub my underarm area and make it raw, is there really a wax or something that I can rub on the beads to make them slicker and help out? If there IS something I can do, where do I find it to buy it since the bridal store doesn't have anything? Help!! I don't want to have red arms on my wedding day! Thanks!
Using silicone or vaseline is a good idea, but may discolor your dress. You may want to try a craft store and see if they have wax for beads, it may be by the jewelry and beading section. Until you are moving a lot at the reception it probably won't bother you, so if you don't find anything you may be OK until after the pictures. You may want to get the wax and bring it in your emergency kit just in case (or bring vaseline as a back up in case it really starts to bother you.)
IN my experience I have seen some brides experience minor chaffing but nothing major and usually not until later. You may also want to consider bringing a soiree dress, or going away outfit in case it becomes too bothersome.
