ivory wedding gown and whites?
My fiance is in the Navy and planning to wear his dress whites for the wedding. So are all of his groomsmen. I found a dress that I absolutely love that is ivory. It doesn't come in white-white, and frankly the ivory color looks much better with my skin tone. The chapel is dim lit and I think that for the ceremony there won't be a huge difference in our colors, but I m concerned about how the pictures will look. The dress is taffeta, which won't shine like satin will and I think that helps, but I'm afraid that with the flash my dress will look dirty next to him.
Has anyone pulled this off? Or worn an ivory dress with the guy in a white tux?
My dress was actually silvery-brown, but my bridesmaids were in off-white. Before the wedding I held their dresses up to the groom's white shirt and their dresses looked almost yellowish in comparison
....however, we decided to just go with it and print pictures in black and white if necessary.
It turns out that even the colour photos look great! Their dresses look white, the groomsmen's shirts look white....you can't even tell the difference. Even in person they looked fine. Once the clothes are on most people won't even be paying attention to subtle colour differences like that.
I know their white shirts are not exactly the same as your guy wearing his dress whites. I guess it comes down to how much will it bother you if the whites are not the same colour? Even if you have a whiter dress it might not be the exact same white as his.
