Red Cap Oranda losing scales near tail fin?
My red cap oranda is losing scales near its tail fin. It is in a 30 gallon tank with another goldfish. This red cap oranda has septicemia (I am hoping to treat it soon but I don't have the medications).
Is the Septicemia the reason for the scale loss near its tail fin? Or is it the other oranda bullying it or water quality issues?
I've never heard of septicemia doing that and the others wouldn't cause scale loss, it happened to my red cap and they're all back now, he lost them right on the bulge of his stomach near his tail fins, i believe it is due to growing to quickly, if he's a little guy watch feeding make sure he doesn't eat to much and if you have an empty tank quarantine him and try some melafix, if it works great and if it doesn't time will do its part. hope i helped
