prom hairstyle help(pics)?
okay,im wearing a short black bubble ( i beleive thats what its called) dress,with black heels,and a necklace baisicly.my mom said i should go witha an up do,but what kind? what should i do with it? i have nooo clue,and tell me if i should wear my hair down as well.im a very vintage/indie artsy person,im also very short..were also re-dyeing my hair red for prom.so its gunna be pretty red lol
p.s. its ironic,because last thing i wanted to do was use the colors black and red(red because of my hair) as my color scheme ugh.

As you're wearing a sleeveless dress, I would recommend only wearing a half up-do. A full up -o may not be as flattering with your outfit.
Apply mousse while your hair is wet. This will help give volume. You can blow dry your hair on cool to add shine, or let it dry naturally (depending on the time you have). Curl your hair all over. It's better to use a curling iron rather than straighteners.
Optionally, you can set your hair beforehand for a bouncier look. You may want to backcomb the hair to add volume, but be aware that the style may not look as neat. Tie half of your hair up using a hairband that matches your hair colour.
Take strands of hair and loop them, then pin them in place with a bobby pin. Repeat this all the way around, sort of like a flowering bun style. Grab some of the loose hair directly underneath the bun and loop and pin some strands from there.
You should have a pretty bun and two loose sections of hair at the sides (the pieces you didn't add to the bun). Mist your hair with hair spray or freeze spray to keep the curl lasting. You can scrunch the loose curls while you spray to keep them tight.
Optionally, you can add a pretty tiara to decorate. I hope you can understand my explanation. This picture is vaguely similar to what I described, look how there are strands looped and pinned to form the bun:
