How can I make a brown and silver colour scheme work?
I have gorgeous brown shot taffeta and velvet curtains in my bedroom, and on impulse have just bought a lovely embroidered silver bedspread. I was planning on painting the walls cream and combining lots of different metallic coloured cushions on the bed - in copper, silver, pewter etc
I don't really want to change the curtains, but I'm having second thoughts about whether a brown/silver/metallic scheme will look right.
I'd like more suggestions of how to tie the colours together, keeping the existing curtains and bedspread.
1] Stick with brown, silver, and copper pillows for bed - pewter next to those colors will look dingy.
2] add silver in windows - in tiebacks, or sheers, or silver ornaments on windows/sills [ cream sheers would also be lovely ]
3] repeat the brown, cream and silver in accesssories:
rug - brown, cream, silver combo
chair - brown velvet or silver
lamps/shades - brown or silver/cream
candles/holders - silver/cream or brown
vase/planter/flowerpot
ornaments
dresser accessories
a brown velvet bench at foot of bed
