Red Bridal

I have a cherry apple red and black bridal shower to decorate for. Any ideas?
The wedding is in October, but the shower is in the middle of June. It will be small and with very conservative ladies (great-aunts, etc.).
I wouldn't use too much of the black with these ladies unless it's black and white. Perhaps black table cloth with white tableware, accented by red/apple decor? I have seen cute red candles in the shape of an apple, that would make a great bridal shower favor. Perhaps you could have a large bowl of apples and those little candles lined up on an elegant white plate as a centerpiece.
