What is the name for this style wedding gown?

I know it is strapless, but what is the name for this type of style, where it shapes to the mid-thigh, and flares out?

Mermaid style shapes all the way to the bottom of the knees, this style shapes to about mid-thigh, then flares out, making it easy to walk, and very shaping. Im more voluptuous so I prefer this style to bring out my figure. The A-line dress flares out from the waist down, so it doesn't shape as much as this one, right?

So what do you call this style, and do you like it?

That style dress is called a trumpet silhouette. They are perfect for brides who have hour-glass body type and tall brides. They aren't recommended for petite brides, those with pear-shaped body or plus-sized. A-line dresses are supposed to be generally flattering on most body types - it complements natural curves of the upper body. Volumptous sounds like you probably are hour class figurish - so trumpet OR mermaid dresses are made for you! I really like that style. Congrats on your engagement and good luck with the wedding planning!
